      Steve Brooks

      Steve has been involved in property from a young age and, following years of helping his parents with their property portfolio, at the age of 14, Steve became the youngest licensed real estate agent in New Zealand.

      After purchasing his first investment property at age 16, by the age of 18, Steve had built up a portfolio of investment properties and moved into property development. He then spent the next two years building and selling properties throughout the country. In the wake of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, Steve took a hiatus from property to pursue other business opportunities, including creating one of the first tax refund companies in New Zealand.

      Following the Christchurch earthquake in 2011, Steve took the opportunity to start purchasing ‘as is where is’ properties and, over the next few years, built up an impressive commercial portfolio, along with continuing to build his residential property portfolio together with James.

      James Cooney

      Graduating from Lincoln University with a BCom VPM (Valuation and Property Management) degree, James began his professional career working at Simes (now Bayleys/KnightFrank) as a commercial property agent.

      Following the Christchurch earthquake in 2011, James sold three sites to developers, of which he then presold over thirty million dollars in new industrial units. Over the following 18-months, James also began trading and selling in what would become known as the ‘as is where is market’.

      James has spent the last ten years building Wolfbrook Residential whilst completing numerous ‘as is where is’ developments and continuing to grow his residential investment portfolio.

  • Why do we need to raise capital?

    Wolfbrook uses main bank lenders, (or non bank lenders) and our capital alongside Wolfbrook Capital to fund developments.

    Access to funds from Wolfbrook Capital is particularly important at the early stage of a project to help fund the purchase of land which main banks will not do.

    We then use our own capital for preconstruction expenses including architects, consultants, council levys and of course our team. Once the project has a building consent issued, we will then use bank funding to complete the development.

    This process allows us to fund more land purchases and complete more developments, delivering great townhouses to Wolfbrook customers

  • Investment Criteria

    Investment in Wolfbrook Capital Limited is only open to wholesale and eligible investors. This investment opportunity is not available to retail investors. The minimum investment is $100,000. Exclusions apply.

    A wholesale investor is a person who meets one of the criteria set out in clauses 3(2) or 3(3) of Schedule 1 of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. An eligible investor is an individual who certifies (in the required form) that they have previous experience with acquiring and disposing of financial products that allow the investor to assess:

    • the merits of the proposed investment;
    • the investor’s own information needs in relation to the investment; and
    • the adequacy of the information provided to the investor by any person in connection with the investment.
