Steve Brooks and James Cooney started their property journey with a vision to transform the residential market. In 2014, they purchased their first investment property. Steve, who became New Zealand's youngest licensed real estate agent at 14, had already saved enough to buy his first property by 16. James, a Lincoln University graduate with extensive experience in valuation and property management, began collaborating with Steve in 2011. By 2014, they had built a portfolio of over 100 properties.

Building a Legacy

From the start, Steve and James focused on creating homes that offer comfort, style, and functionality. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction became the foundation of Wolfbrook Residential.

2019: Completed and sold their first multi-unit development on Warden Street; redeveloped Carlton Mill Road into a luxury apartment complex.

2020: Launched the Wolfbrook brand, opened their first show home, and sold 100 townhouses.

2021: Redeveloped 40 retirement villas in Christchurch, sold 380 townhouses, and delivered 100 townhouses.

2022: Expanded with 210 townhouse sales, launched a commercial arm, and opened a Wellington office.

2023: Delivered over 500 homes, expanding significantly in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, and Christchurch.

2024: Delivered their 700th home.
